บทคัดย่อ

Due to the worldwide Coronavirus (COVID – 19) outbreak, ‘normal’ lifestyles have changed
to a new way of living (new normal), especially in educational institutions in which ‘normal’ and traditional teaching methods had to be adapted into a ‘new normal.’ In Thailand, educational institutions had to quickly adapt to this ‘new normal’ by implementing online teaching models for distance learning. This provided a challenge specifically for Physical Education and Instruction and Classroom Management, which has relied traditionally on in-classroom instruction and physical assessment and ability. However, in order for learning to be continuous and uninterrupted during the pandemic, the transition to and management of teaching physical education online meant implementing a method of instruction that had never been seen before.
The challenge for teaching physical education online is how to instruct from a distance
and how to help students achieve academic objectives through online instruction. This article will illustrate the limitations, problems and obstacles in the management of online physical education instruction, as well as discuss its benefits and possible guidelines and solutions for future physical education online instruction models. Teachers, or specifically physical education teachers, should be encouraged and further educated about the use of technology as an additional teaching and learning resource and this article will also discuss the various ways to evaluate and assess physical education students performance through online instruction.
In conclusion, teachers should be aware of the key factor that makes both regular
and online instruction successful is the constant and continual interaction and engagement
between the teacher and the student, as this interaction alone is enough to create motivation and focus for the students success. As a result of successfully adapting to teach physical education online during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID – 19) outbreak, the online teaching model adapted as the ‘new normal’ will continue to remain as a method of instruction.
